    The Neversink ... my Waterloo

I'm close to obsession with trying to figure out how to be highly productive on this amazing river. I've seen some giants, but have never landed anything beyond 13" and never had more than 2 C&R in a day. I've been there in the early evening when rises all around taunt me. I'm sure its more...

    Newbie here to fly fishing

All good, but, for spring, I strongly recommend an olive bh woolly Bugger on NJ rivers. Also, being that you are on SI, look into striper on the fly... the small ones are a gas on a fly rod. But, you'll need completely different rod and rigging. Sent from my SM-G935V using Tapatalk

Rocking The Ramapo in the rain

Hey, sorry for late reply. My notifications need work! I fish both, but more in NJ than NY. The NJ sections are easily accessible and they do a good job stocking. I've never seen evidence of large holdovers, but I could be wrong. In NY, they actually stock 14" browns! But, the river is not as...

    Fishing Buddy

Looking to find a salt fly fish buddy as I'm fairly new to the salt game I nearly every aspect. I live in Nyack,Ny area on Hudson, but will travel a couple hours to fish. NJ, Long island... its nice to have some company occasionally, especially if they know what the heck they're doing and...

Rocking The Ramapo in the rain

Every single one on a CH green wooly bugger... they love green on that river. Got 5 this afternoon, though it's clear it will be running low if we don't get regular rain.

    Big Flat ... doesn't disappoint

If you can drift a nymph to any of the downed trees that litter this river, they are there!

    Big Flat ... doesn't disappoint

Wow, the water level is very low, but it was such a cool, beautiful day. I went to the deep pool (does it have a name?) at dawn and fish were consistently rising till about 10. Got one almost immediately on a zebra midge. Then nothing till I switched to a muddler minnow which rangled a...

    Fishing KLG 9/19/15

I was there yesterday. It was beautiful and cool, but low, low. I had some taps using various nymphs tandem. No bugs coming off the water to speak of, so I spent more time just enjoying the place. Met a fellow who said he spent a lot of time there and got two stickies on a caddis. I've had great...

    KLG... In the neighborhood

Not my go-to water, but happened to be at a meeting nearby that ended early, and since I travel with my gear...paid off. No touching... Quick release. This was early August.
