I recently sampled these tacos and heartily endorse them. He is also a pretty good fly tyer, as are you fin-ite. I will shortly start a new fly tying thread moving on from real cdc to something, I'm not sure what, but it will be good. It's a good chance for the new guys to outdo me, which should...

I'm impressed you caught a shad on the fly rod. I tried that half hardheartedly a few times eons ago and was never successful, but I did catch some on spinning gear. They are a great fish to catch.

I have the same vehicle, but I don't have a drift boat, only a sneak box, and I wasn't at Shehawken.

How much is too much water on South Branch of Raritan or Musconectcong?

Here is a site that shows water monitoring data for the S Branch and from which you can get the water temperature again. The array is at the same place the USGS monitoring equipment is. There are others river sites that give the temp where the USGS doesn't on here also...

I like to use the stream flow CFS instead of the gauge height. For me, 200 CFS is the uppermost, under 100-150 is good. But that's just me.

I swore this off 20 years ago. But I will go on a following weekday if I can get there without an ark. And if Lightenup is open, I will get some tacos.

    real cdc

I don't think I resemble that description, but I'll take it. I think this thread has a record page count for the new neff. Look what 3 people can do! And we found out that finite really does tie flies.......

Great report, great looking fish. I just wish I had enough hair on my head to have my own DA. That's why I go around picking dead ducks. I think that's why anyway. That's my story and I'm sticking with it. Still too cold for me, but I'm a candy ass anyway. I like your idea of the jig hook...

There is a lot to digest here. People should discuss these topics more often when fishing. Yoga poses on a blowdown. Fashion show at the foot of a riffle. Doobie around the fire. Windmill on the car. Lots of great ideas here.
