    The Neversink ... my Waterloo

I'm close to obsession with trying to figure out how to be highly productive on this amazing river. I've seen some giants, but have never landed anything beyond 13" and never had more than 2 C&R in a day. I've been there in the early evening when rises all around taunt me. I'm sure its more...

    Big Flat ... doesn't disappoint

Wow, the water level is very low, but it was such a cool, beautiful day. I went to the deep pool (does it have a name?) at dawn and fish were consistently rising till about 10. Got one almost immediately on a zebra midge. Then nothing till I switched to a muddler minnow which rangled a...

    KLG... In the neighborhood

Not my go-to water, but happened to be at a meeting nearby that ended early, and since I travel with my gear...paid off. No touching... Quick release. This was early August.

    Neversink Gorge... What a jewel

Took a nice "walk" into the gorge from the bottom end for the first time. Took my rod with me for kicks, but was mostly scouting the new approach. This place never ceases to amaze me. The hike in its treacherous, but fun if you expect it. A good walking stick is a must for my old fart legs...

    The Big Flat... Sweet

I love this place. Fished up and down from 206... killing it with a BH hare's ear and pheasant tail dropper. Landed 8, hooked at least 10 more! Nearly all spunky bows in the 11 inch range... All were caught in fast water, didn't even fish the big pool.... which was loaded with regulars. Upstream...

    The Neversink

Got on The Neversink this afternoon....just a beautiful river. I wasn't in The gorge, instead below on Oakland Valley. The water was cool and gin clear...but The Neversink is always cool...tons of bugs in the water....flying ants bright green nymph of some sort....not a fish rising!!! Saw a...

    Fishing Creek

I had a mere three hours to fish as I was passing through the area...my hours of research suggested Fishing Creek was the way to go. First, i am incredibly impressed with how clean the road and parking areas were! Wow, just fabulous to see people paying attention to all the do not litter signs...

    Musconetcong: A First Trip Report

My frist trip ever to the Musky. I went in at what I believe was the bottom of the TCA on Point Mountain Rd. Walked upstream on the blue trail around 9:30 AM on Thursday. It was pretty quiet, no risers. The water was not quite clear, but pretty good. So much shade the polarized lenses dont help...
