Hello everyone,
I have a bamboo Casting rod that i just cant seem to find any info on. on the rod there is writing and it says this.."Jorgensen Japan No.95" it has four tips. It is hex shaped and looks like an old rod. Does anyone know where I can find info on this rod? If anyone is interested in buying it please let me know.

Thanks again.

Can you post a picture?

It sounds like one of the rods made in occupied Japan that returning GIs brought home by the thousands. May be worth $50 to $100 if you have the original box and all the goodies, but as a rod alone it isn't worth much. However, would need to see it to say for sure - I'm not familiar with the Jorgenson name.

I guess it was the 40's or 50's when there was a huge influx of bamboo rods as I find many at estate sales usually in the $5 to $100 price range many times I only find the bits and pieces.....also many salt water bamboo rods....

fisherdale,

I, too, have an old bamboo Jorgensen Rod (but with no reference to Japan) a No 85. It is 81/2 ft long. I have had no luck getting any specific information about it. There was a famous fly tier and fly fisherman in the Catskills named Jorgensen, but I've found no connection. My tendency is to think it may have been a post war Japanese rod, but I feel mine is older than that as it was my grandfathers. Let me know if you get any meaningful feedback.
