Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Is Sandy Hook worth a trip yet?

Fished the Hook yesterday with a
Group of fly fishers from another
Board. Perfect day tide was great
Water temp was good , lots of bait
Moving. We had a good mix of
Fish , bass , shad , a couple of herring
And one lonely blue.
Will be back next week, Wed.
I have had to sniff around this
Fall but the fish are there.

Good to hear there's some action up at the Hook. I'm trying to make at least one trip back to the salt before winter..
I would like to think things will pick up once some cold fronts start moving through

Slightly off topic (too far south), but it may interest the saltwater guys::

A co-worker (who fishes unmentionable tackle) told me that Long beach Island was hot this past week end.
"Busted wide open. Bass all over the place"
Yes, he saw one of "those fly guys" scoring.

He planning on going back for the 4-day Thanksgiving week end.

Yea it has been hot , friends hit it up.
IBSP is also hot will be there Wed.
A couple of us fly guys are starting at the Hook at 5am do the morning there then
drop down to IBSP for the rest of the day.

Hit the hook early , tough conditions got shad no bass in the morning the afternoon not much better.
From the reports as always a day early

Had a solid day yesterday at the hook. 5 bass, no keepers, all between 18 and 25 inches. Catchable size Herring around as well. All fish came on chart over white or olive over white Clousers or Candies. Tons of juvenile rainfish close to the beach, bass were on 'em. Great December day!
