Lacey Rods

I would eventually like to purchase a bamboo rod and am doing a little research to help me choose the right one. I was at a fly shop a few weeks ago and heard a guy talking about his Lacey rod. He got away before I had the chance to question him about it. Does anyone have any experience with Lacey rods? I want one primarily to fish the small mountain streams of Southern Appalachia.

My friend.
Lacey makes a beautiflul rod am told.
I recommend looking at vintage. The Hheddon fly weights, their 7 foot, 3/4 weigth rods are nice. 500-800 region, nice condition.
I have the Heddon Model 17, Black Beuaty. Heddon is a nice, cheap step into vintage.
Granger you can get for about the same. I have nice old Granger od, 5 weight rod. Beauty.
Also look at Phillipson, F E Thomas Special, they are cheap still. Best secret, until now.
I also love the Divine rod from Utica, rare come around anymore.
God can go on. Unless you want custom, am told he makes a beuatiful rod.
Look at the New Divine rods as well, Mike Sinclair , the author who wrote the book about Devine, does a beauty too.
A lot out there.

Long story short, you can not beat the Heddon feather weight, around 7 foot. Nice rod.
The model 20 is another great Heddon.
Good luck
