Line Maintenance

I have been using RENEW SOLUTION fly line cleaner and
conditioner for about 6-7 years now.

I believe it is the easiest to use and works as expected.

You just add the solution to the foam pad, lay your rod in the top
(rubber to protect the rod finish) section, and fly line on the
cleaning pad, close it.

You can clean the line by paying out your line and/or reeling it in.

It is that simple and easy to use even Ryan R can do it.

Now that looks easy. I could even use it while casting, thus not loosing any fishing time.

Thanks AK,

You need some arm and hammer, and a scotch brite pad......make sure you hit the flat spot really well!!!!

AK - how do you clean a midget?

HUMmmmm...

Never given it a thought before.

Usually they are just one time use and throw them away. Speaking of which, I am surprised that Rusty Spinner hasn't told us how many midgets he found on his river clean ups.

So if I had to guess I'd say while gargling with Scope you just drop them in and... and.. clean them that way?

A cross between a bubble bath and whirl pool.

Course they don't care too much for the part being spit out into a sink.

Course Ryan R and BIG BUFF WRIST SHOT just might be swallowers.. who knows about... That Roman Greco stuff... man in tights.

Just a thought that nobody mentioned... Is the tip of the line sealed. If not water can wick up the core & destroy the hi floating qualities of the line.
I heard that a good cleaner/ floatant is Alboline makeup remover. I know it is a dynamite fly floatant & I have used it on my furled leaders to float them, but I'm kind of leery about using it on $50.00 line. Has anyone tried it????
