Somerset show get together

Anyone interested in a NJ Flyfishing.Com get together for an hour at the Somerset show. Meet each other,have some beers and a hot dog. If it works out well maybe it could be an annual thing.
How about doing a poll of what date and time would be best for everyone then doing it. How do we do a poll on this ????.

Arnold..you have the option to post a poll when you make a new thread. However my thought is , since a poll doesn't allow disccussion it may not be the best way to go for this kind of thing. That said I'll be there Sunday only, due to work responsibilites...

Arnold, let's just make it Sun. at noon, in the bar, over at the hotel. The hotel is right next door, (as you know?), and there is a covered walkway between the two buildings. Most all the slide show/talks/seminars/etc. events are held in the hotel anyway, and by the thrid day most folks should be fairly aquainted with the logistics. The bar in the hotel (Doubletree) puts out an all you can eat buffet for $7/8 and it's very good, and quite convienant. I was going to post a new thread with exactly the same idea, when the time got a bit closer. But since you jumped.......i'm on board. Just remember, NO gang blank walkin'. LOL. mark (willow) p.s. you do NOT want to be eating in the consession (aptly named) area over at the gig. Food is horrible and a total rip-off.

I think you are right, a lot easier and we don't get into all the crazy talk about times,dates,and everyones problems. Anyone that can make it fine, if not, see you next year maybe on Sat.
SO IT'S-SUNDAY 12 NOON AT THE DOUBLETREE HOTEL BAR FOR ANYONE THAT CAN MAKE IT. Wear one of those stick on name badges with your name and www.NJFlyfishing on it.
Will be nice to meet some of the folks.

The name tags will be at the DRF booth. Those that have replied to my name tag post will get one with their screen name and real name printed on them. There will be plenty of blank ones with just the NJFF logo if people want to fill one out.

I'll be walking the trade show and attending the seminars on Sat and tying at my club's booth on Sun. Two days there should be enough, right???? HA!

A WEEK! might give you enough time to just barely see all the tyers do a few flies each, lol. And you aint gotta week. So, does that tell you all you need to know? LOL. Fly Ty R, which club are you refering to????? I gotta get over and see you man. Here's my tying scheduall for Somerset, at the CFTG table. Friday: 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday: 5:00 p.m. til closing and Sunday: 2:30 til closing. I was originally going to tye earlier on Sat. but another guy could only give us that same time and he asked me to switch. I hope you'all get to be there as much as you like. In a way, in the end, the less your there, the less you'll spend, LOL. So, if you can't make all three days................mark

Ain't that the truth!!!! I'm a relative newbie to the show. This will be my third year there, so I know how big it really is. The first year I went only on Sat, and didn't nearly see everything I wanted to see. Last year I went on Sat and Sun to see everything, and I still didn't have enough time. But I spent a nice chunk of change. This year, I won't be bringing nearly as much moolah, only because I don't have it . You're right, though, spending a week there would be enough time.

I'll be at the South Jersey Coastal Fly Anglers booth on Sunday, in the Destination Theater area. The website is in my profile. We're not part of the trade show since we're not selling anything, but since we're a new club, this will help spread our name a little. I'll be tying mostly saltwater patterns, since it is a saltwater club (not much trout fishing here in South Jersey), but it's tough this time of year when I'm in a trout mode and the saltwater scene is done.

If my count is right we now have eight people interested in the get together at the bar.Don't forget to stop at the Del River Foundation booth for name tags. This will be fun and if this works out maybe a group get together on a Catskill stream this summer. Perhaps a single file march like a bunch of ants through Stockport to the rivers edge,do some fishing and a cookout. By the way, I'm not running for social director, just trying to keep the interest up.

Arnold, you ARE aware of the "Gathering" from May 31st thru June 6th. A week of fishing/tying/eating&drinking/and all around hanging out together in Roscoe, N.Y. ??? Are you not??? Meet at the Roscoe dinner every morning at 7:00 a.m. Head for the river(s) at 8:00 a.m. and have lunch and or diner each day and night together if you so choose. Anyone wanting to pass on any portion thereof to do other things, (including sleep in or nap) is welcome to do as they want. The "schedual" is for the gung-ho, and is not set in stone. We may have casting and or tying contest, if the group wants to, we may not. We may have prizes for the biggest fish of the week, most fish of the week, etc., depending on if we can get donors to the cause. Tying at my house every night also, bring refreshments. IF, you plan on comming, GET YOUR ROOM RESERVATIONS NOW!!!!!!!!!!!! If you snooze, you loose. That time of year.......well trust me. DO IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!! mark
