Tulum, Mexico

We're going to Tulum, Mexico in October and I was wondering if anyone on this forum ever fished there. We'll be staying in cabanas right on the beach and I won't be renting any charter boats. Beach fishing is all I have. Any tips highly appreciated.

Thanks.

MY tip... DEET. If your bug repellent is not 104% Deet, you may be sucked dry by the mosquitoes. Can one still buy DDT in Mexico? You may want to look into this...

As far as fishing tips go, I'd guess mosquito patterns as well as mosquito larvae nymphs would be the way to go.

Are you going down to scout future landscaping talent? you can come to my neighborhood and see how they handle the mexican jet ski.

Flyfishing Tulum Mexico

Yep good fishing here, I see your post quite a bit late but will fish the Sian Ka'an Biosphere from Dec 20th 2011 to Jan 18 2012 and give some reports. A buddy is there now, windy and choppy as we are getting out of Hurricane season still, but calmer week by week at this time of year...
Surf side fishing rough, but in the canals/lagoons, and from a kayak, good protection from the seaside...
Will be there next week and send some reports of what is going on...if my tent, and I, do not get blown away in a storm...
Best
Thomas

Re: Flyfishing Tulum Mexico

I've been there twice already since that post. Good luck and share some pics.

I'm thinking about taking a trip out and fishing this place. Where do you guys recommend staying in this area? How is Dreams Tulum Resort & Spa?
