BRK TRT: I'm thinking of taking a day off from work (Boston) this month and fishing an eastern Connecticut river for browns and/or rainbows (I know and respect your affection for the smaller streams, but it's browns on a 5-wt that occupy my daydreams). Could I ask your recommendation? I'm a pretty experienced angler, will be wading, and hope to play the hatch-matching insect game. From the reading I've done, I'm curious about the Shetucket in particular (and for trout not the famous broodstock salmon season, which I know is over for this season). I have fished the Salmon River in Colchester, but that's probably as far west in Connecticut as I would want to go on a round-day-trip from my home on Cape Cod. Okay, so that's enough of the criteria. I respect your many postings, and somehow have the impression from home waters are in eastern CT, so I thought I'd ask. Thanks.
