I have a 9' 6" Cross Doublebuilt Cane Fly Rod for sale. Model # 171 3/2 for 6 or 6/7 weight line in excellent restored condition and unfished since. Gold silk wraps and full gold intermediate
wraps with black tipping and black accent wraps exactly as original.This rod is from the mid to late 1920's before the S. Bend Rod Co. took over the Cross Rod Co. Nickel silver ferrules still nice and tight. Serial # 02952 in original script on butt shaft near agate stripping guide. 2 agate (agatine?) tip tops on rod, but I'm not sure if they're original to the rod.....1 gold repair wrap on 1 tip between tip top and first snake guide where there was a hook dig. No other fractures, splits or repairs on this rod. This rod was painstakingly restored by me after exact locations of all windings were mapped out. Full nickel silver slide band reel seat with stamping in 3 lines:

Beautiful spar varnish applied via the dip method. I have only lawn cast this rod twice since it's restoration to determine line weight as I had intended to to use it for salmon/steelhead, but I have no interest in that now, so I would like to sell it to someone who either collects and/or appreciates Cross doublebuilt rods. THIS ROD IS READY TO FISH WITH AND LAND THOSE HUGE STEELIES AND KINGS!! THIS MEDIUM TO MEDIUM SLOW ACTION ROD WILL TOLERATE ANY STRONG RUN WITHOUT THREAT OF BREAKING TIPPETS. Tip sections are single built, butt and mid sections are double. Non-original tube and cloth bag included with rod. This is a very rare rod, all full length pieces, as I haven't seen any others around
