Welcome back to the new NEFF. Take a break from Twitter and Facebook. You don't go to Dicks for your fly fishing gear, you go to your local fly fishing store. Enjoy!

Esopus Creek

Fishizzle, I use worms but I'm looking to upgrade!
Spent Saturday fishing there, this is where I started fly fishing, and I like to get back once in a while. I don't have any big fish to report, but the rainbows are on the upswing again. I caught several small ones in the 6" range, and a couple around 10-11, along with a couple of browns.

Good to hear. I haven't been to the Esopus yet this season but plan on going in the next week or so. I went at the end of last season and the water was the nicest I've seen it in years. I suppose the portal issue/rehab was finally fixed but the water was crystal clear and I had a great day.

I've never fished it myself, but always follow goings on from afar. The small bows sound like last year's hatch which should have been strong given excellent flows that winter and spring. This past year should be the same. We desperately needed a few decent spawning seasons throughout the area after 9 years of near drought conditions and low flows.
