Fly Tiers Round Table September 4th
On September 4th RVTU will feature a Fly Tier’s Round Table demonstrating Stuarts rabbit-fur mouse. Yes you read it correctly, I said Mouse! Stuart Shafran will be demonstrating how to tie this amazing mouse pattern. Looking to catch that elusive big brown trout in the early morning or late evening hours, or how about some bass?
Come and join us.
Materials needed for Stuart’s rabbit-fur mouse;
Hooks - Partridge CS17, size2 & 4, or Tiemco 300, size 2 & 4, or any
moderately long streamer hook.
Thread - Danville’s waxed flymaster plus 210 denier, or 6/0 Uni-thread
black or brown.
Crosscut rabbit strips-must say “crosscut” on the label-any color.
Suede or leather trims - black, dark gray, or brown. Pkg. of mixed colors @
Michael’s or AC Moore.
Black eyes-tiny peel and stick from Michael’s or AC Moore.
Sheet of 2mm craft foam (fly foam) any dark color.
Moose mane for whiskers.

Bring your vise and materials to our Tier’s Round Table, learn a new fly or get help from other members. Never tied? No problem we will have vises and tools available to try your hand. We ask all members that do tie your own flies to come out and help your fellow members. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Fredy Fredyatridgeandvalleytu.org
If any members have an extra vise and don’t mind bringing it, please do so. We might have some members looking to learn.
Note: Please remember to bring a light for your vise, lighting conditions in the building are not ideal for tying without a light.
Lowes sells the folding Ott light for $35 and its also rechargeable, lowest price I have found!
