Somerset Flyfishing Show - Name Tags/DRF

WB Catechumen

Square Tail Chaser
The following name tags have been printed. You can pick them up Friday after 12:30 at the DRF booth. If I'm not there, just ask for them.
While you are there and your pockets are still full of that "Walkin around money" why not become a member of the DRF? In a Nutshell..... The $30 you spend will go a long way towards supporting an organization that in addition to the Delaware River Basin Commision, The Nature Conservancy, The Watershed Advisory Council, The Subcommittee for Ecological Flows and others, are trying to:
1. Ensure an adequate supply of suitable quality water to restore, protect, and enhance aquatic ecosystems and wildlife throughout the Delware River Basin.
2. Ensure an adequate and reliable supply of suitable quality water to satisfy domestic, municipal, industrial, and agricultural water needs using supply and demand management techniques.
3. Ensure adequate and suitable quality stream flows for flow-dependant recreation activities throughout the Delaware River and its tributaries.

That was the "long and short of it" HOWEVER - many of the issues that are on the table and open for discussion FOR A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME are very complex. BUT - the end results IF the DRF, and other supportive groups are successful will mean a more stable habitat and tail water trout fishery for you, your children, and your childrens children.

I met Dennis C., Kenny Joe, Harry Z., NJFlyguy, Flycast (We didn't get a chance to talk) Sawkill, Andre (Nice to meet you) hope we get to fish some day, Willowhead, Hondo and BJ Miller (It was good meeting you)
Andy B. (Sorry you didn't get your tag Andy, I know you were busy. Next year I'll deliver yours to you at your tying table.)

If they helped any of you to meet other members while walking around - Good
If not - oh well
Ralph Ford, Bestbugz, Mike M., Ahab - What happened? Didn't get to the show?

I didn't get to the bar at 12 today, had stuff to do. I worked 4 hours each day in the booth this weekend and was running around the rest of the time. Helping out where I could.

On behalf of the Delaware River Foundation I would like to thank those of you who either signed up as members or bought raffle tickets for the rod raffle.
Most of the money generated goes to conservation projects like addressing erosion problems and enhancing spawning areas in the adjacent tribs, in addition to help fund a flow study that will be the foundation of a flow plan that is beneficial to all end users in the Delaware River Basin.
For those of you (Ed) that would like to still become a member or buy some tickets for the rod raffle, you can do so on line at the DRF site. We are giving away 31 very nice rods in July including rods from T&T, Powell, Winston, Sage, etc. $20 a shot. Check it out

I only had a couple of hours Friday @ the show but I did pickup my nametag and met AndyB and Willow(Mark) which was cool. Hope to meet up with everybody else this spring up in the Catskill.

Jon, besides seeing you and of course Andy at our booth, i did get to meet up with quite a few guys from this site. It was really nice meeting them all. The thing we had set up for the bar in the hotel at noon was a complete FLOP! Although it was very nice meeting Arnold. No one else showed up. I find that detestable..... j/k. Guess they just all had stuff goin' on. So much for meetings in the bar at noon. After the last two bombing.......i aint planning no more. Glad i renewed my membership in the DRF. And see you soon for tying i hope. mark

Hey Jon. Thanks again for the name tag. I was working most of the day at Fishy Fullum's booth or tying flies with the Joan Wulff Fly fishers on Saturday. I finally took a break and stopped by the booth at about 4:30 in the afternoon and had a nice conversation with Judd.

Sorry Willow,
I didn't spot you around on Saturday. I'll have to catch you at the new shop. I'm tying at the Catskill Guild get together in april.

See you on the stream...

Bruce

Bruce, i had to cut the would be partner loose. So no new shop for me. Glad actually too. My gallery and school are enough. Don't wanna over do the work thing you know? LOL. I looked for you at the Joan Wulff booth and you had just left there, on Sat. I didn't get back from Roscoe on Sat. til like 3:30. For me, Somerset is a four day deal, so........hope you had a good time. I'll be tying in Idaho Falls, Idaho for the 11th annual Eastern Idaho Fly Tying/Fly Fishing Expo (my second year) on the same day as the CFTG Rondezvous this year, so i won't see you in April either i guess. Just make sure you get up here for the "Gathering" from may 31st thru June 6th. I tyed the first two Rondezvous so, i had to choose Idaho Falls over the Rondezvous for this year anyway. Take care, mark
