Thank you for protecting us, President Bush….
Thank you for protecting my son from terrorism and freedom-hating people.
Meanwhile, you have relaxed mercury emissions from coal-fired power plants (under the guise so making them “tougher”): http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=scienceNews&storyID=7901358
So now my newborn son cannot enjoy eating any of the fish he may catch when I take him fishing in a few years. Neither can my wife because she’s of child-bearing age. Not even a pumpkinseed or yellow perch caught in a remote farm pond. Nothing.
Now there are health restrictions on eating freshwater fish in virtually every state in the union, mostly due to mercury pollution. To find out about your own state, go to: http://epa.gov/waterscience/fish/states.htm
And now, best of all, a study has been released today that links mercury and autism: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7218182/
So again, Mr. President, my sincere thanks from protecting my family from evildoers.
P.S. Thanks also for opening up the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge to oil drilling. It’s nice to know that my son will never get to see the last great untouched American wilderness.
