Before this blows up into another idiotic argument, let me say that I met
John twice, once several years ago at a TU meeting and once again 15
months ago when I test casted a few of his rods. Both times he was
sporting a very bushy beard. At the RRTU meeting he was much
thinner and had a new beard that just started. I was paying attention
to the speaker and the stadium seating at the meeting I was 6 rows
behind him and most of the night I saw the back of his head.


Does that satisfy your curiosity or were you looking to something else?

If I commisioned someone to build a rod and they held my $250 (or whatever) deposit for a year, and no phone calls, emails, smoke signals were returned, I'd have to pay a visit. Actually, I wouldn't let it go this far and have posted about it. Maybe $250 is forgetable money to some, but not for me. I don't have to speculate whether or not this has shennanigans written all over it not. It's not what is at issue for me. I think it was very badly played and played out by klg neighbor.

Make it into an "Us vs. Them" all you wish. Again, I wouldn't have handled it the way klg neighbor did. Period.
